I would like to nominate Doug because he is one of the most dedicated and hardest workers I have had the pleasure of working with. He goes above and beyond the call of duty each and every day to ensure that all events in Dodd Auditorium are run smoothly and efficiently and that all patrons have enjoyable experiences. Tommy is the calm and knowledgeable “voice of the help desk.” His desire to assist the university community never wavers, and he works to improve the service the help desk provides. Tommy is always thinking “customer first” when working problems, and has the patience to deliver excellent service even when he as answered the same question 20 times that day. Even on breaks, Tommy continues to monitor the Help Desk email and voicemail to help with “password emergencies” and other questions – that is dedication. Tommy is deserving of this recognition, and serves as an example of the type of caring attitude we all strive for in IT Support Services.

“This nomination should have been made a LONG time ago. Mrs. Lister is the glue that holds financial aid operations together. She keeps employees and projects moving forward with positive motivation. She is patient when providing instructions and training. She does not merely go through the motions of her job. Mrs. Lister is fair and strives to create equity when awarding financial aid to students. She works long hours to ensure that students receive their aid as fast as possible and she advocates on their behalf when they reach ‘rough patches’. She is proof that financial aid administrators truly believe in access to education.”

Congratulations to Dan Quann, director of maintenance services, who has been selected as the Excellent Eagle Employee for the month of February. A parking spot of his choosing has been reserved for him through the end of the month.

“I recommend Dan Quann for his above-and-beyond prosecution of several recent incidents, including:

  • Repair of steam line and water line leak between Brent Hall and Marshall Hall
  • Clean-up following the Mason-Randolph fire sprinkler episode
  • Flooding of Eagle Landing this past weekend

While his presence was not required during any of these repairs, Dan spent much of his personal time after hours and on two weekends to ensure that the repairs were completed as quickly as possible.”

She accepts new responsibilities without question and provides results that exceed expectations. Most recently, Rose was willing to assist in the planning and day of logistics of a major event in the Office of Academic Services. “Tember should be recognized as an Excellent Eagle Employee because, simply put, she is a model of excellence.  She goes above and beyond her duties, never hesitating to stop her detailed focus on the mounds of paperwork and data she deals with daily, to help a fellow employee or student.  I have been the recipient of her helpfulness on several occasions.  Rest assured, she gets right back on task to complete her job.  Students love her enthusiasm and sense of humor.  She instantly puts worried students at ease with her calm and caring manner, not to mention her extensive knowledge of all the requirements of the Education program.  Tember is the epitome of caring and sharing her knowledge to help others.  She is adaptable and flexible in her position.
